Dr James Barnard specializes in “biological nutrient removal (BNR), wastewater treatment, and sustainable development”. He received the WEF’s Thomas R. Camp Award in 1987 and Koch/Imhoff Award from the International Water Association in 1988. In 2007, he was awarded the Clarke Prize from the National Water Research Institute. In 2011, he became a Fellow of the Water Environment Federation and was awarded the Lee Kuan Yew Water Prize in the same year. He is currently a Global Practice and Technology Leader of the Black & Veatch, USA.
