Abstract: Recently there have been significant theoretical and experimental efforts to understand and identify topological phases in interacting electron systems with strong spin-orbit coupling. The talk consider interacting electrons on the pyrochlore lattice and investigate possible topological and related phases in the presence of strong spin-orbit coupling. Novel topological phases in the strong and intermediate-strength interaction regimes are investigated. Applications to 5d transition metal oxides and related systems are discussed.
