Talk no.23 Abstract: Non-linear optical response can be greatly enhanced from having strong localized electric or magnetic resonance. This can be achieved by designing plasmonic nanostructures that have strong localized plasmonic excitations. This was demonstrated by several research groups; these include plasmon enhanced harmonic generation in second and third orders. In this talk, some of our investigation on nonlinear optical properties such as plasmon enhanced third harmonic generation by optical excitation of Au hole-array, nonlinear Fano resonance and giant Rabi splitting will be presented.
