Let me begin with congratulations. First, to the families and sponsors, who have valued the education offered to this class, and who have supported you throughout a very demanding schedule. Second, to the two partner schools represented here today by Deans Jain and Chan. They have dedicated their schools to a unique and steadfast collaboration that the Economist.com described as the most successful partnership EMBA program in the world . And finally, congratulations to the graduates of Class Eight. You have successfully accomplished a major milestone for yourselves and set a new standard for the program. After you joined this program it became clear that you would not settle for anything but excellence which became your own high standard. The program is better because of you and I am confident you are all better because of the program. Contrast feelings and status during Live-in Week with Professors Deshmukh and Isenman with your thinking now. You have all come a long way. You are an ambitious class with a focus on quality and we have enjoyed having you here. What you have achieved will be with you forever. Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. Based in Hong Kong, Marcopoto oversees all programming, network development, advertising and distribution sales, marketing and promotion for Turner Broadcasting and its networks and internet services, including the CNN news group, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Pogo, TCM and CETV in the Asia Pacific region. CNN International is the world ls leading global , 24-hour news network, and is available for over 186million households around the world. Cartoon Network offers the best in animated entertainment featuring its own original animation under the Cartoon Cartoons banner as well as drawing from the world's largest cartoon library of Warner Bros., MCM and Hanna-Barbera. Boomerang is a new animation channel from the Cartoon Network stable, which launched on FOXTEL and AUSTAR's digital services in Australia on March 14,2004. POCO, a multi -genre channel created exclusively for kids in India, launched successfully on January 1, 2004 and is distributed by Zee Turner Ltd. CETV delivers the best of Asian, Chinese and international entertainment to Chinese audiences. TI3S holds a 36% interest in CETV in partnership with the Tom Group. Marcopoto was instrumental in helping the channel become the first international channel to be granted official landing rights in the PRC. Previously, Marcopoto was president, Time Inc. Asia. Still earlier, he was vice president and publisher of TIME Asia and managing director of Fortune Asia where he worked on the launch of FORTUNE China and the 1st Fortune Global Forum. Marcopoto earned a SA from Seton Hall University and arrived in Asia in 1981 and has lived in both Hong Kong and Singapore. He has served as Chairman of the Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA). Today he serves as a board member of the Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (CASBAA) and is on the Board of Governors of the American Club in Hong Kong.
